Immobiliser removal

When an immobiliser has to come out of a control module, the proof of ownership we require, and why we turn most of these away.

Home tuning tools

An immobiliser stops an engine running unless the ECU sees the right key. When a
control module is replaced with a used unit from another vehicle, that pairing has to be
sorted out before the engine will start.

What we require before we touch one

Proof that the vehicle is yours, in the form of the V5C in your name, plus photo
identification. No exceptions, no matter how convincing the story. We turn work away over
this regularly and we are comfortable doing so.

The legitimate cases

Used ECU fitted to repair a failed one. A donor engine and module going into a rebuild.
A conversion where the control module and the vehicle were never a pair. Those are real
jobs and we do them.

original read, tell us the vehicle and what you need, and the file comes back

Each row is a control module we have a working solution for. The note tells you what typically also has to happen on the car, because where a part has to be unplugged that is mechanical work on the vehicle, not something a file alone can do.

We have more than one route to most of these jobs, so the requirements on your car are confirmed when we look at it rather than taken from this table. Treat the notes as what to expect, not as a fixed instruction.
