Engine Start Blocking

Your Autowatch immobiliser prevents the starting of your vehicle unless the user has entered the user generated PIN.
This is even if they have the keys with them, protecting your vehicle against key theft, keyless entry and key cloning.

No Detectable RF Signals or Diagnostics from the Immobiliser

Thieves can use Radio Frequency Scanners to detect the fitted security on the vehicle.
Your Ghost Immobiliser does not transmit and detectable radio frequency signals, making it undetectable under these circumstances.
Organised car thief gangs can detect circuit cuts on vehicles using diagnostics reading devices.
The Ghost Immobiliser does not involve any circuit cuts, so is once again undetectable to thieves using this method.

Service Mode

You may need someone else to drive your vehicle temporarily. For example, for valet parking or when your vehicle is in for a service. In this case, the immobiliser has a ‘Service mode’, allowing the vehicle to start and drive without the need for the PIN.

Uses the CAN Bus (Controller Area Network)

Use of the CAN Data Bus means there is a low likelihood of the immobiliser being found. This also makes for simple and easy installation. What more can you ask for!

Insurance and TASSA registration

JF Automotive is a TASSA registered installer. TASSA – the Tracking and Aftermarket Security Systems Association – is the body most UK insurers look to for aftermarket vehicle security. The important part is that the recognition applies to the installation, not just the product: a Ghost only carries it when a registered installer fits it and records it.

What that means for you:

• Your installation is logged on the TASSA database, which insurers and police can check
• You receive certification confirming the install
• Engineers fitting the system have been identity and background checked

Tell your insurer once it is fitted. Most recognise a TASSA registered installation and some reduce the premium for it, but every insurer sets its own terms – so confirm what yours will offer rather than assuming. We can supply the paperwork you need.

Common questions

Can it be found with diagnostics or a scanner?
Thieves locate conventional immobilisers either by scanning for radio frequency or by reading circuit cuts on a diagnostic tool. The Ghost transmits no RF signal and involves no circuit cuts, so neither method reveals it.

Is anything cut into the wiring?
No. It communicates with the ECU over the vehicle’s existing CAN data network, so there is no splicing into the loom.

What if I forget my sequence?
There is a secure emergency code unique to your vehicle, so a forgotten sequence does not leave you stranded.

Someone else needs to drive the car.
Service mode lets a valet or a garage start and drive the car without your sequence, and without revealing it.

Does it stop keyless theft and key cloning?
Yes – that is the point of it. The engine will not start without the sequence being entered, even if the thief is holding your actual key.

How long does fitting take?
Around two hours at our Maidstone workshop. You are welcome to wait, and we will set your first disarm sequence with you before you leave.

Which cars can have one fitted?
Far too many to list. The Ghost works through the vehicle’s existing CAN data network rather than model-specific wiring, so it suits the large majority of modern cars, vans and 4x4s. Send us your registration and we will confirm yours and the exact price before you book.
