What if a main dealer wipes the map with a software update?

It happens. A main dealer carries out a recall or a routine software update, the ECU is flashed with the manufacturer’s current calibration, and your map goes with it. The first sign is usually that the car feels standard again.

Bring it back to us. We take a fresh read of the ECU, write your map onto the updated software and hand the car back. There is no charge. That is what our lifetime software support means.

Two things worth knowing. First, we rewrite onto the new factory software rather than simply reloading the old file, because the dealer update may have changed more than the calibration. Second, if you know a dealer visit is coming up, we can put the car back to standard beforehand and rewrite it afterwards, both free of charge.
