Flashtec has released CMDFlash V3.2.0.292, dated 2 November 2026. It is a smaller release than the last one, and it centres on EMP glitch bench unlocks for three Bosch diesel ECU families used by BMW and Mercedes.
Which ECUs
The release lists three EMP glitch protocols, each described as a full bench unlock:
- Mercedes: Bosch MD1CP001 (SPC5777M)
- BMW: Bosch MD1CS015 and MD1CS115 (TC399)
- BMW: Bosch MD1CP002 (SPC5777M)
Flashtec also states that the EMP glitch positioning masks for the SPC5777M and TC399 processors need updating. The updated masks can be bought from the Flashtec shop, or you can contact their support for the .stl files to 3D print your own. The mail-in service is still available for customers who do not want to use EMP glitching.
Cars this opens up
The release names the ECU families and the brands, BMW and Mercedes, but it does not publish a model-by-model list or production years. We are not listing models here for that reason, so check the ECU label and part number on the unit before you quote a job. The release does not mark any of these protocols as beta.
What it means
For owners, this is mainly background. It widens what a well-equipped workshop can do with newer locked BMW and Mercedes diesel ECUs, which is where a typical remap gives its best gains in torque low in the rev range. If you want to see what is possible on your own car, start with our tuning builder.
For dealers, the practical point is the mask update. If you use EMP glitching on these ECUs, check you have the correct masks before the next job, because the older ones will not do. Dealers can read about the Flashtec CMDFlash tool and our file service.
