The 2.0 TSI in a 2018-on Golf GTI, Tiguan or Cupra Formentor sits on one of a small family of Bosch MG1 ECUs, and only one hardware version of one of them could be done over OBD. Everything else needed a mail-in. Over the summer that closed up.
On 26 June Autotuner released bench read and write for every variant of the MG1CS031, including the CAN versions that were never OBD-capable, and for the MG1CS142, after a mail-in unlock. In July and August Magic Motorsport’s Flex added workshop boot glitch unlocks for the MG1CS011 (1.5 TSI mild hybrid) and the MG1CS111 (the 190 PS 2.0 TSI in the Arteon, T-Roc, Formentor and Octavia), so those need no mail-in at all.

What it means
This is the engine our Stage 1 was built on. The 245 PS Golf GTI typically makes around 300 PS and 420 Nm; the 190 PS 2.0 TSI around 250 PS and 400 Nm; the 150 PS 1.5 TSI around 185 PS. Gearbox files for the DSG DQ381 are available to match, and every file is written on our own rolling road.
Owners: put your registration into the tuning builder. Dealers: all four ECUs are covered by the file service; the Autotuner reads them after a mail-in unlock and the Flex opens the MG1CS011 and MG1CS111 in the workshop.
