Magicmotorsport has added Boot Glitch support through Korhex for Bosch MD1CS069 and MD1CS089 ECUs in Flex 8.26.0.0. Both controllers use a TriCore TC299 processor and turn up in light commercial vehicles and in modern agricultural tractors. JF Automotive holds the Korhex hardware and the Flex licence level it needs, so our tools now read and write these units in Boot Glitch.
Which ECUs
The two controllers are Bosch MD1CS069 and MD1CS089, both TC299. Technicians can stay in Boot Glitch for the whole job, or unlock the module and carry on in Bench mode. The protocol covers read, write and checksum of internal flash, read and write of EEPROM, and a full backup. Magicmotorsport quotes roughly 30 seconds to connect, 2 minutes 30 seconds to read and 2 minutes to write, and notes an improvement to how reliably the Boot Glitch connection is made. It needs an FLS0.20 Boot Glitch licence or a Flex Full FLS0.5 configuration.

What it means
For tractor and van owners, a newer locked Bosch controller no longer has to mean a dead end. Calibration work on this class of machine is about torque delivery low in the rev range, fuel burn and work rate across a long day, rather than a headline bhp number. Results depend on the machine, its condition and the calibration, so we assess each one individually.
For dealers and garages, Boot Glitch means the ECU can be accessed directly instead of waiting on an OBD route that may not exist for locked units. That should shorten turnaround on 2021 onwards vans and tractors, and we can handle the file work from there.
