A Stage 1 remap takes the Mercedes CLS 350 CDI from 258 to 300 bhp and from 620 to 700 Nm: 42 bhp and 80 Nm more, on standard hardware. Diesels gain most in torque, so the change shows as pull from low revs and less gear-changing under load, not just a higher peak figure. It is done in a visit at our Maidstone workshop and the original file is kept, so it can go back to standard.

How long does it take, and can it be reversed?
