A Stage 1 remap takes the Volkswagen Golf 1.8 TSI from 160 to 210 bhp and from 250 to 310 Nm: 50 bhp and 60 Nm more, on standard hardware. On a turbocharged petrol the gain comes from boost, fuelling and ignition timing recalibrated within the limits of the standard turbo and injectors. It is done in a visit at our Maidstone workshop and the original file is kept, so it can go back to standard.
