A Stage 1 remap takes the Volkswagen Golf 1.8 20V GTI from 150 to 192 bhp and from 210 to 310 Nm: 42 bhp and 100 Nm more, on standard hardware. On a turbocharged petrol the gain comes from boost, fuelling and ignition timing recalibrated within the limits of the standard turbo and injectors. It is done in a visit at our Maidstone workshop and the original file is kept, so it can go back to standard.
