Magicmotorsport has released Flex version 8.18.0.0, which adds Korhex support for the Mercedes Truck CPC5 control unit on vehicles built after 2020. If you run or look after heavy goods vehicles, this is the unit that has been sitting behind a closed door on the newest Actros and Arocs since they arrived.
Which ECUs
The update covers the Mercedes Truck Bosch CPC5 built around the SPC58 microprocessor. Flex and Korhex work on it in Boot Glitch mode using EMFI, or electromagnetic fault injection, which gives direct access to the microprocessor rather than going in through the diagnostic port.
Once connected, our tools now read and write the internal flash with checksum correction, read and write the internal EEPROM, and take a full backup. Magicmotorsport quotes roughly 30 seconds to connect and glitch, around two minutes to read and around two minutes to write. The protocol needs either an FLS0.20 licence or the full Flex FLS0.5 configuration.

What it means
For operators, the practical value of CPC5 access is not a headline power figure. It is that the powertrain controller on a late Actros or Arocs can be read and written in the workshop, so a truck needing work on that unit does not sit off the road waiting on a mail-in turnaround.
For dealers, the same point applies to your own turnaround times. Boot Glitch on CPC5 needs the Korhex hardware alongside Flex and the right licence level, so it is worth checking your configuration before you quote a job on one of these rather than after.
