The 3.0 TDI V6 is the engine in half the Audis we see: the S4, S5, S6, S7 and SQ5 diesels, the 45 TDI and 50 TDI A6, A7, A8, Q5, Q7 and Q8, and the VW Touareg. From 2018 it sits on a Bosch MD1CS014, and the 2024-on mild hybrids on the MD1CS064. Both were locked.
Two routes opened in July. Autotuner reads and writes both ECUs on the bench after a mail-in unlock (two minutes to read, thirty seconds to write). A week later Magic Motorsport’s Flex 8.4 added a boot glitch for the MD1CS014 that does the unlock in the workshop, so the car does not wait for the post.

What it means
The 3.0 TDI is one of the best engines to tune. The 286 PS SQ5 and 50 TDI typically go to around 340 PS and 700 Nm on a Stage 1; the 231 PS 45 TDI gains a similar 50 PS. Everything is proven on our rolling road, the original file is kept, and the gearbox file for the ZF 8-speed is available to match.
