Alientech has added a new connection option for the EVPT VCU3000 controller used across Stellantis’ electric quadricycle range. KESS3 can now read and write the unit over the bench, alongside the boot mode support already released for it, giving dealers a second route into these micro-EVs when OBD access on its own is not enough.
Which ECUs
The EVPT VCU3000 is the vehicle control unit fitted to Stellantis’ small electric quadricycles, the platform shared across the Citroen Ami, Fiat Topolino, Opel Rocks-e and Vauxhall Rocks-e. We covered OBD access to this same controller a few weeks ago on our Magic Motorsport Flex platform, so this KESS3 update is a second tool now supporting the family rather than the first. Alientech’s release adds a bench protocol for the EVPT VCU3000, sitting alongside the OBD and boot options the tool already supports for the same unit. No BETA flag has been placed on this release, so it is being treated as a stable protocol rather than an early trial.

What it means
For dealers running KESS3, this is another way in when a unit will not respond over OBD, whether that is down to a locked bootloader, a corrupted file, or a controller that has been swapped after a repair. Having bench access as a fallback keeps a job moving instead of stalling on a single connection method. Our file service covers the EVPT VCU3000 the same way it covers every other unit on our supported list, so garages that do not run KESS3 in-house can still get a Citroen Ami, Fiat Topolino or Rocks-e file processed through us rather than turning the job away.
These are low-power city quadricycles rather than performance cars, so this update is about access and diagnostics rather than remap gains. Being able to read and write the controller on the bench matters more here than any figure on a rolling road, particularly for dealers dealing with a unit that has stopped responding on OBD or a customer who has bought a car with an unknown service history.
