AutoTuner has added bench support for the Bosch EDC17CV54, the ECU used across a long list of tractors, combines and plant machines. The release went out on 23 September 2026. It is a Bench Normal Read, so the unit is read and written from the connector on the bench. The calibration area is what comes off the ECU, and the checksums are corrected on the way back in.
Our tools now read and write the Bosch EDC17CV54 in that bench mode, and the file service covers the agricultural calibrations that come off it.
Which ECUs
One ECU family is covered by this release:
- Bosch EDC17CV54, microcontroller TC1767
- Mode: Bench Normal Read (NR). AutoTuner does not mark it as beta
- Readout: the calibration area
- Read time about 45 seconds, write time about 1 minute 15 seconds
- Checksum correction, and a backup of the original file, are both part of the protocol
The work is on the bench rather than through the diagnostic plug, so the ECU comes off the machine first.

What it means for owners and dealers
On a tractor, a combine or a loading shovel, the useful part of a calibration is torque low in the rev range, the fuel it burns while it is working, and how much ground it covers in a day. This release does not publish a power figure, and we are not adding one. What it does is open the EDC17CV54 so a file can be read, written and checked without a mail-in unlock.
For the owner, the machine can be booked in, the ECU put on the bench, and the calibration handled as a normal file job. For a dealer, turnaround is set by how quickly the unit can be got onto the bench, not by the flash itself. AutoTuner quotes about 45 seconds to read and about 1 minute 15 seconds to write, with a backup taken before anything is changed. Agricultural calibrations are covered by the file service, so a garage with AutoTuner can pull the file and send it across, and a garage without the tool can use the same route.
