Flex adds OBD for Stellantis EVPT VCU3000 on Citroen Ami and Topolino

Magicmotorsport has released Flex version 8.20.0.0, and with it an exclusive OBD protocol for the EVPT VCU3000 control units fitted to Stellantis Group electric city cars. Until now these units could only be reached on the bench or in boot mode, which meant removing the unit from the vehicle. The new protocol works in Virtual Read straight from the diagnostic port, with nothing to dismantle and no components to remove.

The release went out on 16 September 2026. Our Flex tools now read and write EVPT VCU3000 over OBD, and the file service covers the calibrations that come off them.

Which ECUs

One control unit family is covered by this release:

  • Stellantis EVPT VCU3000 (TC234L) – OBD working mode
  • Memory handling: write and checksum on the map area
  • Licence levels: FLS0.1M/S and FLS0.5M/S
  • Reading is Virtual Read; writing takes around ten minutes

OBD sits alongside the Bench and Boot modes Flex already offered for the VCU3000, so the method can be chosen to suit the job rather than the other way round. The same update carries a Korhex interface fix.

Cars this opens up

  • Citroen Ami (2020 model year): 5.4kW 48V, 8HP
  • Fiat Topolino (2024 model year): 5.4kW, 8HP
  • Opel Rocks-e (2021 model year): 5.4kW 48V, IBSG, six electric

What it means

These are small electric quadricycles rather than performance cars, and nobody is chasing headline power figures here. What matters is that the VCU is the unit that governs how the vehicle delivers what it has, and until this release getting into one meant pulling it out of the car. That is a lot of labour on a vehicle this small.

For owners, the practical effect is that work on an Ami, Topolino or Rocks-e no longer involves stripping the vehicle to get at the controller. For dealers, it is a turnaround story: a diagnostic-port job with a ten minute write, against a bench job that ties up a bench and a technician. These vehicles are appearing in fleets and city car-share schemes in growing numbers, and being the workshop that can handle them without dismantling anything is a useful position to be in.

Owners can see what is possible on our tuning builder. Garages who want the files without the hardware can use our file service, and the Magicmotorsport Flex page covers the tool itself.
