Bosch MG1CS032 bench support: Peugeot, Citroen, DS and Vauxhall

AutoTuner adds bench support for the Bosch MG1CS032 ECU, covering the Stellantis 1.2 PureTech in the Peugeot 208 and 2008, DS 3 Crossback, Corsa and...

AutoTuner has released bench support for the Bosch MG1CS032 engine ECU, and it lands on one of the most common small petrol platforms on UK roads: the Stellantis 1.2 PureTech three cylinder. The release went live on 10 September 2026 and is available now on the AutoTuner Tool, which means our bench is already set up for it.

The MG1CS032 is built around an SPC58N microcontroller. AutoTuner quotes a read time of around 2 minutes 45 seconds and a write time of around 3 minutes, with checksum correction handled automatically and a backup taken before anything is written. There is one detail dealers need to plan around: this is a bench protocol that requires AutoTuner’s mail-in unlock first. The ECU has to be unlocked before the bench read and write will run, so a first-time unit is not a same-hour job. AutoTuner also offers a dedicated PSA bench cable for the pinout, which is worth having if you expect to see these regularly.

Which ECUs

Bosch MG1CS032 (SPC58N), engine control unit, bench mode after mail-in unlock. Reading, writing, checksum correction and backup creation are all covered by the new protocol.

Cars this opens up

  • Peugeot 208 (2019 onwards), 2008 (2019 onwards) and 301 (2012 onwards), with the 1.2 VTi, THP or PureTech GPF engine
  • Citroen and DS: DS 3 Crossback (2019 onwards), with the 1.2 THP or PureTech GPF engine
  • Opel and Vauxhall: Corsa (2019 onwards) and Mokka (2020 onwards), with the 1.2 Turbo engine

What it means

For owners, this is the small Peugeot, Citroen, DS, Corsa and Mokka fleet that until now often meant a shrug when you asked about a remap. Our tools can now read and write the MG1CS032, so a 208, a 2008, a DS 3 Crossback, a Corsa or a Mokka on the 1.2 PureTech is a car we can work on properly rather than turn away. These are small-capacity turbo petrol engines, so the gains people notice most tend to be in drivability: cleaner throttle response and better mid-range pull rather than a headline peak figure.

For dealers, the volume here is the point. The 1.2 PureTech is everywhere in the used market, and a protocol that covers Peugeot, Citroen, DS, Opel and Vauxhall from a single ECU family is a lot of cars from one piece of tooling. Factor the mail-in unlock into your quoting and your customer’s expectations on turnaround, and keep the bench cable on the shelf.

Owners can spec a job through our tuning builder. Dealers can send us the read through the file service, and you can read more about the hardware on our AutoTuner tuning tool page.
