Plug-in and mild hybrid VW group cars have been the one part of the range we could not touch. The 1.4 TSI e-Hybrid in the Golf GTE and Formentor, and the 1.5 eTSI in the newer Golf, Octavia and Tiguan, sit on a Bosch MG1CS211 that no tool could read. From 2 July Autotuner reads and writes it on the bench after a mail-in unlock.

What it means
We tune the petrol engine side of the hybrid. The 1.4 TSI in the GTE makes 150 PS on its own and typically goes to around 185 PS on a Stage 1, with the electric motor adding what it always did, so the combined figure and the response both improve. The 1.5 eTSI gains a similar 35 to 40 PS. Battery, motor and charging are untouched.
Owners: put your registration into the tuning builder. Dealers: MG1CS211 reads are covered by the file service and the Autotuner is the tool that reads them.
