A Stage 1 remap takes the 340hp supercharged V6 F-Type to around 400hp and 500Nm on our rolling road, which is the biggest gain in the range because it is the most restricted version. The 380hp V6 S goes to about 400hp, the 495hp 5.0 V8 to around 560hp and 700Nm, and the 550hp R to about 580hp. The 300hp four-cylinder reaches around 320hp and 450Nm.

The Jaguar F-Type 3.0S is a modern day classic with gorgeous looks and a lovely smooth 3litre supercharged V6 engine. The standard model has a very respectable 375BHP but here at JF Automotive we now have a ECU tuning package to release its untapped potential!
Following our initial dyno, data and diagnostic examination, the Jaguar F-Type produced 280WHP which equates to an estimated 365BHP flywheel power, slightly lower than the manufacturers quoted figures for this car. Happy the car was running safely our in house software developers finely calibrated the engine software and after a day of data logging and tweaking, we wrote the tuning file back on to the engines ECU. The JFA tuning file achieved a staggering 50bhp and 47Nm of additional power from the 3.0s engine, all 100% safe and within manufacturer tolerances.
After an extensive test drive we found the extra torque from the low rpm range made all the difference and with a slightly louder note from the exhaust with that extra power. We tested the Jaguar F-Type on country, town and motorway roads to ensure all driving styles meet our strict overall user experience. As you can see our customer was very happy with the results and will be sure to bring his next Jaguar to us.

Questions we get asked
How much power does an F-Type gain?
340hp V6 to around 400hp and 500Nm. 380hp V6 S to about 400hp. 495hp V8 to around 560hp and 700Nm. 550hp R to about 580hp. 300hp four-cylinder to around 320hp. The lower-output versions gain the most because they are the same engines held further back.
Is the V6 worth tuning?
It is the standout in the range. A 340hp car reaching 400hp is a 60hp step from software alone, which puts it past where the V6 S starts. If you are shopping for one to tune, the base V6 is the value buy.
Does the supercharger change anything?
It means the gain is real but more modest than a turbo car of similar size, because a supercharger is mechanically driven and its boost is tied to engine speed. There is less to unlock than on a turbo, and more than on a naturally aspirated engine.
Should I tune the gearbox too?
The F-Type uses the ZF 8HP, which has its own torque limiter and shift calibration. On the V8 in particular it is worth doing alongside so the extra torque is not clipped and the shifts keep pace.
Will it affect the exhaust note?
Not directly; the map does not change the exhaust. What it can change is how often the active valves open, because that is driven by load and rpm. If the noise is what you are after, the exhaust is the honest answer, not the map.
Is it reversible?
Yes. We keep your original file and can write it back at any point, which is what people do before a main dealer visit.
