A Stage 1 remap takes the Renault Megane 1.5 DCI from 110 to 130 bhp and from 260 to 300 Nm: 20 bhp and 40 Nm more, on standard hardware. Diesels gain most in torque, so the change shows as pull from low revs and less gear-changing under load, not just a higher peak figure. It is done in a visit at our Maidstone workshop and the original file is kept, so it can go back to standard.
