Eco-Blue Remapping

Economy remapping is for diesel drivers who want the same journey to cost less. It is a software-only change to fuelling, boost and torque delivery, written for your exact engine and tested on our own 2,000bhp 4WD Mustang rolling road.

What you can expect

  • Diesel: usually 10 to 15 percent better mpg, as long as you drive the car the same way afterwards. Drive it harder and you will spend the gain rather than save it.
  • Petrol: very little. Economy tuning does not achieve much on a petrol engine. We would rather tell you that than take the booking.
  • Written for your exact engine, not just your model, and proven on our own rolling road before you drive away.
  • Software only. We do not remove or disable emissions equipment as part of an economy remap.
  • Backed by our 30-day money-back guarantee on Stage 1 engine tuning.
  • Software support for the life of the car.
  • Work covered by £2 million insurance.

Why is my car not already set up for economy?

Manufacturers ship one set of maps worldwide. The same file has to cope with different climates, altitudes and fuel quality, so it is written to work anywhere rather than to suit your car, your fuel and your roads.

There is commercial reasoning in there too. Power and economy are both set with the rest of the range in mind. BMW kept the 335d away from M3 pace on purpose, and the eco-badged versions of ordinary cars, VW’s BlueMotion and Mercedes-Benz’s BlueEFFICIENCY among them, are largely the same hardware with a different calibration and a higher price.

An economy remap recalibrates the engine so it does the same work with less throttle. On a diesel that is usually worth 10 to 15 percent. On a petrol it rarely is.

Is it worth doing on your car?

Send us the registration and we will tell you what we hold for your exact engine and what the gain realistically looks like. If it is not worth doing, we will say so.
