A Stage 1 remap takes the McLaren 540C from 540bhp and 540Nm to around 620bhp and 680Nm, and every 570 variant, the 570S, 570GT, 570LT and Sprint, reaches the same figures from 570bhp and 600Nm. The 540C gains most because it is the same 3.8 twin-turbo V8 held further back in software. Every file is written for the specific car and proven on our Mustang AWD dyno in Maidstone, with your original kept.

McLaren Engine Tuning & ECU Remapping
McLaren tuning will offer great power and fuel economy enhancements , however as with most vehicles the peak power gains are only half the benefit. You will also find power delivery earlier in the rev range due to additional low down torque and sharper throttle response along with vast improvements to mid-range torque providing a wider power band.
McLaren Gearbox TCU Remapping.
If your McLaren is fitted with an automatic or semi automatic transmission we can perform a gearbox remap in additional to the engine remap. A gearbox remap for your McLaren will offer faster gear shift speeds, smoother shifts, faster reaction to paddle shift inputs and improved mid range torque by releasing torque limiters. Transmission lock is also improved giving a faster response during acceleration and assisting with kick down at low speeds.
McLaren Dyno Tuning
Our purpose built research and development facility houses out very own Mustang AWD 2000BHP linked dyno. This allows us to accurately measure every parameter we adjust making sure a tune is every bit as safe as it it powerful. When booking your McLaren tuning, book a set of dyno runs to see a full print out of power before and after the tuning.

Questions we get asked
How much power does a McLaren gain?
The 540C goes from 540 to around 620bhp and 540 to 680Nm, an 80bhp step. The 570S, 570GT, 570LT and Sprint all reach the same 620bhp and 680Nm from 570bhp, so around 50bhp. Same engine, different factory settings.
Is the 540C the same engine as the 570S?
Yes, the same 3.8 litre twin-turbo V8 with different software and equipment. That is why the cheaper car gains more from a remap and why both end up in the same place.
Is it safe on a McLaren?
It is when it is done on a dyno with data logging, which is the only way we will do one. We watch boost, timing, lambda and temperatures on every run and stop where the engine tells us to, rather than at a number decided in advance.
Will it invalidate the warranty?
A main dealer can detect a remap and may decline an engine or drivetrain claim because of it. We keep your original file and can return the car to standard before a dealer visit.
Do you service McLarens too?
Yes. We are an independent McLaren specialist in Kent: servicing, repair, MOT, suspension and brakes as well as tuning, to the manufacturer schedule so the history stands up.
