Autotuner’s latest OBD Normal Read protocol now covers the Delphi DCM7.1AP and DCM7.24 engine control units, fitted across a wide range of Chinese-built trucks, pickups and vans sold under several brands. The update reads and writes calibration data straight over OBD, with full checksum correction applied automatically, and each read or write takes only a few minutes.
Which ECUs
The protocol covers two Delphi units built around the TC277 microcontroller, DCM7.1AP and DCM7.24. Both are handled with Autotuner’s OBD Normal Read (NR) function, giving a full read in around two minutes forty five seconds and a write, with checksum correction, in around three minutes. No bench work or unit removal is needed for either operation.

What it means
For fleets and importers running these trucks, pickups and vans, the appeal of a remap is rarely outright power. It is torque delivered lower in the rev range, where a loaded pickup or panel van actually does its work, together with a better fuel burn across a long day on the road. Because both the read and the write run over OBD in a few minutes each, with no need to open the ECU or book the vehicle in for a bench session, dealers can turn a job around in a single visit rather than planning around a longer workshop slot.
It is also useful cover for the growing number of these brands now appearing on UK roads and in dealer workshops outside their home markets, where support for less common ECUs has historically lagged behind the mainstream European makes.
