The 3.0 litre Ingenium mild hybrid diesel in the current Defender and Range Rover can be remapped through the OBD port. On the D200 our Stage 1 calibration takes the standard 200hp and 430Nm to around 225hp and 480Nm, and on the D240 the standard 240hp and 500Nm rise to around 280hp and 550Nm. Other MHEV variants such as the D250 and D300 are quoted individually once we have read the car's file. The 48V mild hybrid system is untouched, the original software is kept so the vehicle can be returned to standard, and every car is baselined and proven on our 4WD linked dyno.
Introduction:
If you’re a Land Rover fan, you probably know they’ve gone hybrid with models like the Defender and Range Rover. Well, we’ve got some exciting news, we are stepping it up to make these hybrids even better! We can now Tune, your Land Rover giving you more power whilst still being economical. Land Rover Tuning isn’t just about performance it’s also a cost-effective method for fuel savings!
Our Method:
So, what’s does Land Rover Tuning actually mean? Basically, we tweak the ECU in your Land Rover’s to enable extra performance and customisation for you. Whether you’re rocking a Defender or a Range Rover, our tune will give you a serious boost in power and torque.
Models We Can Now Stage 1 Tune:
- Defender and Range Rover 3.0D MHEV, D200 (197-200BHP): typically 240BHP and 550Nm after our Stage 1 file.
- Defender and Range Rover 3.0D MHEV, D250 (246-250BHP): typically 270BHP and 620Nm after our Stage 1 file.
- D300 (296-300BHP): we do not have a Stage 1 file for this one yet, so we are not going to quote you a figure. Send us the registration and we will tell you exactly where it stands.
Those are the figures we expect from the file on a standard, healthy car. Every one is confirmed on our own rolling road before you collect it, and your car’s own numbers will depend on its condition, its fuel and how it has been looked after.
Benefits for Customers:
- You’re gaining more power, plain and simple. That means quicker acceleration and a more exciting driving experience.
- Worried about fuel? The extra torque low down means fewer gear changes and less right foot for the same pace, so driven the way you drive now most owners see the same or slightly better consumption. Drive it harder and it will drink more, as any car would.
- Additionally, we customise the tune to fit your specific Land Rover and how you like to drive. It’s a bespoke performance upgrade.
Conclusion:
A Stage 1 tune gives these mild hybrid diesels a real lift in pull without touching the hybrid system, the DPF or the AdBlue. So, if you’re all about that hybrid life but still want some extra power, we’ve got you covered.
Let’s take your Land Rover to the next level!

Questions we get asked
Can a mild hybrid Land Rover diesel be remapped?
Yes. The 48V mild hybrid system on the Ingenium diesel is a belt-driven starter generator that assists the engine, and the ECU that controls fuelling, boost and torque limits is separate from it. We recalibrate the engine control unit only and leave the hybrid system as it left the factory.
Which Land Rover MHEV engines can you tune?
The D200 and D240 Defender and Range Rover models are covered, and we can read the file on the D250 and D300 to confirm what is available for your car. Get in touch with your registration and we will check before you book.
Will a remap affect Land Rover warranty or servicing?
A remap is a modification and a dealer can detect that the software has been changed, so you should notify your insurer and consider the terms of any manufacturer warranty. We keep your original file and can return the vehicle to standard free of charge at any time.
